Blot.

This is blot! A blog. That is powered by Dropbox and supposedly any file that you throw at it. The thought was that if I removed any barriers to posting thoughts and interesting things online, I would do it more consistently. We shall see about that, various self-help books!

But for now, here is something that can be shared: my company website. We were proud to launch the new version yesterday. It’s going to have to be something that we do more of, updating an online home. Because it’s important for people to see what you do. Trying to infuse it with some personality. Facebook is dead! …but it’s not, actually, see? Now that those doors are open, they’re not going to close again, even if Facebook specifically gets trounced by the U.S. Government. Which it won’t.

So some unwarranted advice that I gave a client just yesterday: use social media to send people to your home”. A website that you are proud of, one that you can control, update on your own, unworried about algorithms. Let your personal site be the place where you kick your shoes off, get comfy on the couch, share a bottle of Basil Hayden with folks. Tell long-winded stories and post pictures that are more pedestrian but more interesting. But don’t try to turn your website into Facebook.

Also, apparently, share your work.
