Blotting with Obsidian

I was attracted to blot.im because of the markdown. Markdown is really the only way I want to write, and luckily in 2021 it’s almost everywhere. I’m missing it from any good email apps (I know that there are some that support markdown, but I haven’t found one that I like), and just a couple of other situations. Yes, I can write some stuff in Drafts using markdown and then write an action that sends it to Facebook.

But…well, in that situation, actually, it’s probably best to just quit Facebook.

Enough about markdown. Just wanted to see how easy it’d be to use blot with Obsidian. I haven’t even pressed save” yet on this post, but it should be the near perfect situation for a no-GUI blogger like me to get the job done. Open your blot folder as a Vault, and bang! away you go.

You can then see all your files, organize them as you’d like, edit them with ease…’cuz now you’ve got all of Obsidian’s magic powers behind your writing. Putting back the UI to a UI-less blogging platform! Nice.

So…yeah! I guess the only very small issues would be that you can’t sync files using Dropbox when using Obsidian on iPhone/iPadOS, yet. So you’d have to dip into using something like Drafts to make that work—no problem! Because when you return to your more robust OS of choice, the files’ll be there, waiting for you. Love it.
